Carn Dearg climbing action, 23rd & 24th July

I had 2 fine and sunny days on Ben Nevis watching the climbers on Carn Dearg. I had hoped to get some close up action pictures from abseil but the size of the cliff meant I would need more rope so I opted to get most of the pictures with a 400mm zoom. Some of the pictures were from the area near the Douglas gap on Tower Ridge, this gave a good perspective of the cliff and I was able to see the whole of the Ben from a central position. Some of the routes and climbers: Torro – (Al Walker and Alasdair Robertson on Sat, Gary Latter and partner on Sunday), King Kong – (Adrian Crofton and Tim on Sat, Al Walker and Alasdair Robertson on Sunday), Titans Wall – (Garry Latter on Sun), Bullroar – (Gary Latter and Partner on Sat, other teams on Sun). Centurion – (3 teams on Sat, also climbed on Sunday). The Bat – (A fine effort as it looked very cold! Saturday). Also Minus one direct, 2 teams on Sat, 3 teams on Sun. Long climb, Raeburns Arete among some of the routes on other parts of the mountain.

Nice photos Colin! We were a party of three doing Torro after Gary Latter’s team on Sunday. It was indeed a cracking day on Carn Dearg. Would it be too much to ask if by any chance you have any photos of us on the same line?

    Cheers,
    Peter
